PS2 Madden to boast online play

EA confirms that the PS2 version of Madden 2003 will be playable via Sony's online network.

EA announced today that the PS2 version of Madden 2003 will boast a number of online game features, the most notable of which is full-on internet play. Among the other online features the game will include are chat capabilities, and downloadable roster updates. The number of players supported by the game's internet matches have yet to be revealed, but the publisher did state that the internet features will be demonstrated at next week's E3, as well as at Sony's preshow press conference. The publisher also mentioned that similar features will be built into other EA Sports franchises, though no specifics were mentioned.
