PS2 Games Making Their Move
With the console becoming more readily available, more PS2 games are beginning to show up on the console sales charts.
PC Data has released the console sales charts for the week of December 31 through January 6. The Game Boy Color games Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold remained in the top two spots, but PlayStation 2 games are beginning to make a move onto the sales charts. Electronic Arts' PS2 version of Madden NFL 2001 captured the third spot on the chart, and the company's snowboarding game, SSX, was eighth overall. This trend should continue as more PlayStation 2 units are available at retailers nationwide and as the console's installed user base continues to grow. The top-selling Dreamcast game for the week was Sega's own NFL 2K1, while Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was the best-selling N64 game. Take a look at the complete charts below.
