Developer Radon Labs has announced that Project Nomads, CDV Software's upcoming real-time strategy game, has reached the alpha stage of development, which indicates that all the major features are now functional, and that the developer will now focus on fixing bugs and polishing the game.

In the game, players will control a wizard engineer, and they will build different structures on a number of islands floating in the sky. These structures can be used to build a variety of units, such as blimps and biplanes, that can be used to attack other factions to gain territory and items. Project Nomads is scheduled for release in the second half of 2002.

We've posted some new screenshots from the alpha version of the game in the gallery above. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
