Codemasters has launched the official Web site for Project IGI 2: Covert Strike, its upcoming sequel to Project IGI: I'm Going In. The new site contains a gallery of screenshots and concept art, a discussion forum, and a sign-up page for the game's upcoming beta test.

In Project IGI 2, players will again follow the story of David Jones, the hero of Project IGI. The game takes place shortly after the end of the previous game, and it will lead players through Russia, Libya, and China in three mission-based campaigns. In addition, the game will feature an all-new artificial intelligence system that will let the computer-controlled enemies use realistic combat tactics to hunt down and neutralize Jones. The game's 3D engine has also been enhanced with more variety and textures for the landscapes, additional weather effects, and new night and low-light conditions.

Project IGI 2 is in development at Oslo-based Innerloop Studios, and it is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2002. For more information, visit the new official Web site.
