TOKYO - Sega announced another Dreamcast title, but not in the usual way.

The game is called Geist Force, and it made its first appearance through print ads in the Japanese press. According to the ad, the game is categorized as a cinematic sci-fi shooting game set on a fictional planet somewhere in the distant universe in the year 3067, while a civil war rages.

One tribe has excavated and is researching an ancient lethal weapon. After a short period of peace provided by the Earth Union Force, the weapon is activated and the planet starts to collapse. The planet enters into a period called The Great Cataclysm, and it is the player's role to stop the threat of extinction.

That's the background story known so far. We'll let you know more soon. Geist Force for the Dreamcast is slated for a December release.
