TOKYO--Konami Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that it is making a tennis game for the Nintendo DS titled Tennis no Ouji-sama 2005: Crystal Drive. The popular manga series on which the game will be based (the title translates to The Prince of Tennis) has already spawned an anime series on television, a stage musical, and more than a dozen video game versions. No release date has been announced, although the title would suggest a release next year.

Although KCEJ has not yet disclosed details on Tennis no Ouji-sama 2005: Crystal Drive, it would seem from the screenshots that the player will be using the top screen for the actual tennis action while the lower touch screen will be used for supplemental actions, like checking on a character's status. The game has been confirmed to support multiplayer over the DS's wireless connection.
