The wait for new Destiny content is nearly over, as the big spring update arrives tomorrow, April 12. Bungie today released a video preview that runs down all of the major new features, including new and reworked Strikes, new bounties, and an increase to the maximum Light level to 335.

Bungie has detailed the update over the last few weeks through a series of livestreams. Whether or not you've been following closely, the video offers a quick rundown of everything that's new. Prison of Elders gets new bosses and a harder difficulty mode, as well as a scorecard that keeps track of your progress week after week to earn new rewards.

There's also new armor, including Chroma gear that can glow various colors and items that resemble the distinctive look of the Taken. Should you get your hands on a full set of Taken armor for a character, you'll receive a new Taken emote for free.

A number of Year One Legendaries and Exotics are being bumped up to Year Two levels, expanding the pool of viable weapon choices. You can see the full list of those here.

On top of everything in this update, anyone on PS3 or PS4 will be getting even more content in the form of exclusive armor, an Exotic weapon, and a Sparrow.

All of this comes for free to owners of Destiny: The Taken King on April 12. Full patch notes have not yet been released, but those are expected alongside the update tomorrow. In the meantime, you can get a look at the weapon balance changes here, along with some explanation from Bungie for why they're being made.
