Predator: Concrete Jungle ships

VU Games urban shooter available for the Xbox and PS2; game brings alien hunter to Earth in an original story.

"It came from another planet for the thrill of the hunt. It picked the wrong man to hunt." That's the tagline for 1987's Predator, which pitted strongman Arnold Schwarzenegger against an alien with a penchant for sport hunting humans.

Although that particular predator was blown to smithereens by a self-destructing device, VU games is bringing one of his buddies back to Earth in Predator: Concrete Jungle, now available for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. The game was developed by UK studio Eurocom Entertainment Software, which is now busy at work on the multiplatform Batman Begins.

The original story sees gamers playing an outcast predator in the years 1930 and 2030. In 1930, this particular predator did some reckless human slaughtering in the Windy City. In his hasty retreat after being spotted, he leaves a few articles behind, most notably advanced alien technology, which is a big no-no among the society of predators. After being banished to a remote planet, the predator returns to Earth 100 years later to right his wrongs and win back the favor of his species.

The year is now 2030, and there's no future California governor to stop this predator. Instead, humans have reverse-engineered the leftover alien technology and developed advanced weapons and cloaking devices. The planet is now overrun with gangs who terrorize the populace. It'll be up to gamers to discern the good and the bad guys by using a variety of weapons and gadgets, and then they have to slay the bad guys while remaining unnoticed.

Predator: Concrete Jungle is rated M for Mature and retails for $39.99. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage, or come back later for a full review.

I think it would be a great game because all the predator/alien and avp games have been good except avp extinction which sucked.does anybody agree?
