Eidos announced today that Praetorians has shipped to stores across North America. Praetorians is a real-time strategy game based loosely on the historical time period of the Roman Empire. The game includes three unique civilizations: the Romans, the Gauls, and the Egyptians. Each side has some unique units, such as Roman legionnaires and Egyptian war chariots, and officer units to lead troops into battle. Praetorians also eschews the standard resource gathering and economic models of most real-time strategy games. Instead, players can capture towns and train troops from them, depleting the towns of their populations. We'll have a review of the game up soon, but in the meantime, enjoy the new screenshots and check out our previous coverage of the game.
