PowerUp Heroes striking Kinect in June
Ubisoft bringing Avatar-supported motion-sensing fighter to Xbox 360 later this year.
Ubisoft's first effort in the fighting genre for the Kinect, Fighters Uncaged, could be considered something less than spectacular. However, that's not going to keep the publisher from returning to the genre, as Ubisoft announced today that it will release PowerUp Heroes for the Xbox 360's camera-based motion-sensing controller this June.
In development at Longtail Studios (Dance on Broadway), PowerUp Heroes is described by Ubisoft as a "full-body combat game," in which players transform their custom Xbox 360 avatars into superheroes. As genetically enhanced beings, players can then duel one another, using their body to attack, dodge, and counter.
Character customization is a central feature of the game, and players will be able to earn new abilities by defeating foes. There are 20 supersuits to collect in the game, each gained by defeating the appropriate opponent. PowerUp Heroes also includes a two-player online mode, as well as a local two-player versus option or four-player tournament bout.
