New publisher Whiptail Interactive has today announced that it will publish Postal 2, Running With Scissors' sequel to the controversial 1997 action game Postal. The first-person shooter, which is powered by Epic's Unreal engine, promises to be every bit as violent as its predecessor but will apparently allow players to interact with the game's non-player characters on peaceful terms, should they wish to do so.

"We wanted to make a bold statement with our first game," said Fred Heslop, president of Whiptail Interactive. "I think it's safe to say there is no bolder statement we could make than partnering with Running With Scissors."

Postal 2 is currently scheduled for release in the first quarter of this year. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
