Popping Some Tonic Corn

Ubi Soft teams up with Newman's Own Popcorn for a Tonic Trouble cross-promotion.

Comments

Ubi Soft announced today that it has teamed up with Newman's Own Popcorn (that's right, actor Paul Newman's company) for a cross-promotion with its Tonic Trouble N64 and PC CD-ROM game. As part of the deal, Ubi Soft will feature Newman's Own Popcorn in the game, as something the game's hero, Ed, eats to become Super Ed. There are also Newman's Own machines around the game's world, featuring the product's logo and dispensing said corn.

A US$10 rebate coupon for Tonic Trouble will be featured in over four million packages of Newman's Own Popcorn beginning this month (and expiring June 1, 1999). Ubi Soft will donate $1 of each redeemed rebate coupon to the Newman's Own "Hole in the Wall Gang" camp in France, a camp for children ages seven to fifteen with cancer and other serious blood-related diseases.
