Pokemon's theme song reimagined as an R&B song

A new web series shows us what an R&B version of "Gotta Catch 'em All" would sound like.

If you've ever wondered what the theme song for the Pokemon cartoon would have been like had it been performed as a rhythm-and-blues song, you're in luck.

A new video series--Saturday Morning Slow Jams--has kicked off on YouTube that seeks to reimagine classic cartoon themes as R&B songs. Each Saturday, a new track will be posted to Scott Bradlee's YouTube channel, and the debut track (via the Huffington Post) is none other than the "Gotta Catch 'em All" theme from the Pokemon cartoon that began airing in the late 1990s.

Are there any songs you'd especially like to see reimagined in this fashion? Bradlee is taking requests, and we'd love to hear what you would choose in the comments below.

I semi-hate it, some parts sounds good and some part are bad.

ps not to be racist, the singing is to much black, if you know what I mean.

They have to do Darkwing Duck's theme.  One of the best cartoon theme songs of all time.

And ultimately that song was pretty much a lie, Ash is still 10, he will never catch em all and most likely will never be a Pokemon master.

There's like billions of cover like this one, why are you making an article out of that? You're suposed to be giving video game news, not show us random video related to video games.

I couldn't continue past the 20 second mark.... Just wasn't for me, I need this song to remain the epic rock/pop-anthem it was

Style is good until she sings the word Pokemon. It feels so off. Sounds like she wants to say Oh My God! Yea, replace Pokemon with Oh My God.

Everything is better with a sassy black woman.

Why doesn't Gamespot have a sassy black woman?

As someone who likes RnB from the 90s through to now. (Not limited to that time frame)

I don't like this at all lol.

That's not R&B.  That's 90's fake R&B.

REAL R&B is stuff like "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers.

Someone throw them  some cash so they can make a real music video of this. Thinking back to the 90's, I can see this being done in B&W, with her walking down the street in the rain.

Only good thing about this is that there's a mildly attractive woman in a miniskirt with some cleavage showing.

@chieflion

OR maybe they just want to take a beloved song and do their own take on it?
