Pokemon Replace Dinosaurs in New Ark: Survival Evolved Mod

"Pokemon Evolved."

A newly released mod for Ark: Survival Evolved adds Pokemon to the popular dinosaur game. The full conversion mod is appropriately enough titled "Pokemon Evolved."

The team behind the mod took Pokemon designs directly from the games they come from, so there is a chance that The Pokemon Company might soon take action against this project. The Pokemon, which include famous ones like Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Mewtwo, spawn in the wild in place of the dinosaurs. It looks pretty cool.

"This mod was created to bring a whole new world to the players of Ark," reads a line from its description. "Like many other ark players, I had become bored with just modding dinos and the other ark craftables. The team went ahead and started to create a conversion to ark that would remove everything that you are used to and replace it with the style from Pokemon."

You can download the mod here from the Steam Workshop. Note that it's still in alpha, so there may be bugs. Check out the video above from YouTuber Vikkstar123HD to see the mod in action.

According to PC Gamer, a copyright claim was made against the mod, though it reportedly came from a different modder and not The Pokemon Company. The mod remains available to download; we will update this post if anything changes on that front.

Ark: Survival Evolved is one of the most popular and top-grossing games on Steam. It is currently the No. 5 game on Steam in terms of total players, with a peak of more than 66,000 today.
