Pokémon National Championships venues and dates announced -- Are you going to try out?

The Pokémon Company today announced the venues and dates for its upcoming Pokémon National Championships, with more than 30 countries around the world chosen to host.

Thousands of Pokémon X & Y players (all of which are probably better than you) will compete in 30 countries across six continents for a chance to play in the 11th annual Pokemon World Championships.

Locations for the marquee events are listed below, and you can check out the infographic above for a full breakdown of where the Pokemon tournaments will be held.

• 2014 Pokémon German National Championships: May 3–4, 2014, in Bochum, Germany
• 2014 Pokémon UK National Championships: May 24–25, 2014, in Manchester, England
• 2014 Pokémon Italian National Championships: May 31–June 1, 2014, in Milan, Italy
• 2014 Pokémon Canadian National Championships: June 28, 20414, in Kitchener, Ontario
• 2014 Pokémon US National Championships: July 4-6, 2014, in Indianapolis, Indiana

Those who advance on from the Pokémon National Championships will compete in the Pokémon World Championships at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., August 16-17, 2014.
