Pokemon movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this week

Beginning March 1, hours' worth of Pokemon movies and TV shows will be available through popular streaming site.

What do Walter White, Frank Underwood, and Pikachu have in common? Soon you'll be able to watch all three via Netflix Instant streaming. The Pokémon Company today announced today that hours' worth of Pokémon movies and TV shows will be available for streaming on Netflix starting this Saturday, March 1.

Here's a breakdown of the Pokemon content available via Netflix streaming beginning on Saturday.

TV shows:

  • Pokémon: Indigo League (US, Canada, UK, and Ireland only)
  • Pokémon: Black and White (worldwide)

Movies (available worldwide):

  • Pokémon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram
  • Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom

A limited offering of Pokemon media is already available through Netflix's standard by-mail DVD service, but the new content is the first to be available via streaming. Of course, you'll need a Netflix streaming subscription ($8/month) to enjoy the content.

Dang it, I was REALLY hoping they'd put up the first movie.  Haven't seen it since it first came out in theaters.

Season 1 & 2 and the first three movies, that's it, the rest is pointless.

I don't think many people read the article. They aren't putting the old seasons on Netflix, just the new stuff.

Wow, I never knew how many 12 year olds were on this site till now.

Just look at these comments below me.

One guy came, another crapped his pants, another can't stop saying omg yes.

You guys DO realize that this is one of the single WORST written shows ever conceived right?
Pokemon, in and of itself is fine, but this show is an abomination.

Nostalgia Chick is on NDA, but I believe she voiced some new Pokemon stuff

And thus I curse how there was never a Pokemon game based off of the Orange Isles episodes.

To this day, I feel this is a grave injustice.

I'm looking forward to this.

I've played Pokemon on and off throughout the years, but I honestly haven't kept up with the TV series since Indigo League.

Someone tell me, is Team Rocket still wasting their time trying to catch Ash's Pikachu?

I gave up watching Pokemon when gen 3 started with Ruby/Sapphire and everything want to hell and Ruby/Sapphire games was a huge letdown the Anime was so disappointing. But now I'm back to watching Pokemon X/Y.

Next Month, I'm watching Star Wars Clone Wars final season on Netflix anyway.

"What do Walter White, Frank Underwood, and Pikachu have in common?" They all have certain meth-ods of dealing with adversaries.

@LittleMac19 I'd like to say that Celebi: Voice of the Forest had a really unique time-travel plot. Plus it has the audacity to open the film with a tiny battle rather than an epic stomping like the other three.

@VenkmanPHD I think that the original series, when you cut out all of the filler episodes, tells a really cool tale of Ash learning how to train Pokemon and putting his all into it, failing at the Indigo League, and then accepting it before returning home.

@VenkmanPHD  I don't know.  Calling it the worst ever is putting it in a category with lots of options.

But yes, it is bad.  And still entertaining with the right group.  And quotable.

@VenkmanPHD  When i was younger Pokemon was stupid. But all those little kids who liked it grew up and now Pokemon is cool....sigh.

@Baelath Yeah, a real tragedy.

Nvm famine, desease, and human trafficing.
Nvm the enslaving of the human race, or false governments.

No... Pokemon Orange Isles... that's what needs to be fixed.

@NightlyOne You pretty much watched the essentials; the Indigo League was meant to be the only one and thus it has a concise story arc. The rest have turned it into the infinite runner of anime.

Since I just started watching Pokemon X/Y since I left the Anime in gen 3, Team Rocket is still there, blasting off again. They have not change, still chasing Pikachu (must be level 100 by now) and same old Team Rocket never change.

That's for sure, the final season is on netflix anyways.

@Fiendvinny  Well every episode of pokemon is about 1 day (on average), and excluding all the movies and spinoff shows, along with accounting for the fact that theres about 800 or so episodes: its safe to conclude that Ash is about 12 to 13 years old right now.

Keep in mind episode 1 where he met pikachu was his 10th birthday.

@Fiendvinny The episode where Ash trips in the bathtub and breaks his hip while Pikachu gets a prostate exam...

@EasyComeEasyGo Although, they became more serious in the B/W saga (since they had an important mission other than catching Pikachu), but after that, they went back to their old ways.

@EasyComeEasyGo  I feel like they are a little more effective than before (even if they never catch him anyway)
