Pokemon / Mega Bloks Crossover Coming Soon, Take A Look Here
Mega Brock.
In the latest video game / toy crossover, you'll soon be able to buy Pokemon-themed Mega Bloks.
The toys, which you can see below (via Kotaku), will arrive at some point in 2017. So far we've seen Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, Bulbasaur, Magikarp, Gyarados, Eevee, Machop, Abra, Zubat, and--of course--Pikachu. It remains to be seen if any other monsters will be transformed into Mega Bloks.
Technically, the figures are called Mega Construx, the Mega Blok variant aimed towards older children and adults. Either way, they look pretty cool; check out the full gallery at Kotaku.
Pokemon isn't the first video game series to get the Mega treatment. There have been sets based around Assassin's Creed, World of Warcraft, Skylanders, and Call of Duty.
There was also a Mega Bloks game centered around the Halo franchise, though this was later canceled before release.
Other video game series to get toy adaptations recently include the Mario universe, whose line of McDonald's Happy Meals toys ended in early February.
In 2014, McDonald's put Mario Kart 8 toys in its kids' meals to accompany the game's release. There have also been Pokemon X / Y-themed toys, as well as a line of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire / Omega Ruby figurines to celebrate those games' launch in 2015.
