Update: Niantic reports the problems have been resolved.

Original Story: Pokemon Go is currently facing server issues.

Developer Niantic acknowledged this on the game's Twitter page today, saying it is "working on a fix" and will share an update when the matter is resolved. "Thank you for your patience," it said.

GameSpot attempted to log in to Pokemon Go minutes ago and received the error message above. As is usual for these types of situations, your mileage may vary.

We will report back with more details on Pokemon Go's server issues as information becomes available.

In other news, Niantic rolled out a new Pokemon Go update this week that made changes to how the game calculates GPS drift. Additionally, people datamined this update and found references to new Pokemon that could come to the game in a future update.
