Pokemon Go Out Now in UK

iOS and Androids versions of Pokemon Go available officially.

Following its launch in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, Pokemon Go is now officially available for iOS and Android devices in the UK. The game weighs in at 161 MB on iOS and 56 MB on Android.

Pokemon Go--which challenges players to catch Pokemon in the real world and is also pretty handy for selling pizza--launched last week and has become a phenomenon.

Its release has added $9 billion to Nintendo's market cap, despite the fact that Nintendo didn't make the game. Nintendo does however own a share of The Pokemon Company, which produced Pokemon Go in partnership with Niantic.

Following the huge success of Pokemon Go, it has been reported that Hollywood studios are scrambling to sign a deal for the Pokemon movie rights.

In other news, two US Marines who were playing Pokemon Go helped catch an attempted murder suspect this week in California.

In GameSpot's Pokemon Go review, it was awarded an 7/10

"If Pokemon Go’s initial public reception is anything to go by, its ability to draw players from multiple generations and varied gaming backgrounds together is a game worthy of attention," said Miguel Concepcion.

"When it works, Pokemon Go feels like a natural evolution for the series, very much a product of the times without making the mainline series obsolete. Its bugs and high battery consumption do not outweigh the old-but-new thrill of capturing Pikachu at a local park or vanquishing a Snorlax while conquering a gym."
