Nokia and Sega have today announced the development of Pocket Kingdom: Own The World for the N-Gage. Described as the "world's first global massively multiplayer online mobile game," the title will challenge players to build a mighty online empire while competing with others from around the world.

"Pocket Kingdom: Own The World defies preconceived notions about mobile gaming and creates an entirely new genre--global massively multiplayer online mobile games," said Pasi Pölönen, director of games publishing at Nokia. "The N-Gage platform, in part because of its unique mobile-connected features, helps game developers unleash their creativity to build games for a truly global market."

"As the first worldwide massively multiplayer online mobile game, Pocket Kingdom: Own The World showcases the power of both the N-Gage platform and the N-Gage Arena," added Gerard Wiener, director of network game solutions at Nokia. "The N-Gage Arena allows thousands of gamers around the world to connect for global mobile online battles, creating dynamic and unscripted gaming experiences. Gamers will relish the challenge."

Pocket Kingdom: Own The World is set in the fantasy world of Ulgress, where players will be able to choose from more than 400 castle configurations, battle with more than 100 different types of collectible units, and equip those units with more than 50,000 collectible items. In addition to player-versus-player combat, players will be able to have their armies explore the land in search of new recruits and treasures, battle with bosses who guard the path to higher levels of play, and raise money for their kingdoms through online auctions.

Pocket Kingdom: Own The World is currently scheduled for release during the third quarter of this year. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
