PlayStation Vita's Unit 13 dropping March 6
Zipper Interactive's portable third-person shooter arriving for Sony's new portable within weeks of system launch.
When Zipper Interactive announced in November that it was bringing third-person shooter Unit 13 to the PlayStation Vita, it did so noting the game would be released on February 22 as a launch title for the PS Vita. However, Sony later bumped the game to "launch window" status. Now, the publisher has finalized the game's release date, announcing Unit 13 will make its bow on March 6.
A third-person shooter developed by SOCOM shop Zipper Interactive, Unit 13 will let players take on 36 missions as one of six different characters, each with specific talents. As players finish those main missions, they unlock "high-value target" battles, which can be shared with friends after completion.
Zipper is placing an emphasis on social and competitive play for Unit 13, designing a 3G-enabled live notification system that will tell players about challenges to their leaderboard positions, shared high-value target missions, and more. The game will also feature cooperative play with voice chat support and separate leaderboards for global and regional rankings.
