PlayStation Store rental options appear following $5 pricing image
PlayStation Now to offer time-limited rental options on PS3 and eventually PS4, new store listing suggests.
The option to rent games on PlayStation 3 has been spotted on the US PlayStation Store.
The functionality, which was originally spotted by PSN Stores, offered PS3 owners the chance to rent Catherine for one, seven, or 30 days. The links do not yet work, however, despite the option being there.
An image posted earlier this week on the Gaikai website put a price on PS3 game rentals, listing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception for $5 and Far Cry 3 for $6. But would these prices be a 30 day rental?
Sony is yet to officially announce how much it will cost to rent games via its cloud-streaming service PlayStation Now, which it revealed back at CES in January. The company plans to launch PlayStation Now in the US this summer, and has not yet dated it for other territories.
A PlayStation Now closed beta is currently running. For more info on the service, GameSpot has compiled all the information about PlayStation Now into one post.
