PlayStation Plus brings PixelJunk Monsters to Vita for free this week

Discounts will also be available for some of this week's new PlayStation Store releases.

The PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection expands by a single game this week, and it's a quality one: PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD for the PlayStation Vita will be free for all Plus members beginning tomorrow, April 22.

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD was released on Vita and PC last year and is an enhanced version of the PlayStation 3 tower defense game PixelJunk Monsters, which was originally released in 2007. Ultimate HD consists of all the content seen in the original game, as well as everything from its Encore expansion pack and the Deluxe version of the game released on the PlayStation Portable.

In addition to the new free game, PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be entitled to some small discounts on a handful of digital games for PS3, PS4, and Vita. Those includes deals on two new releases--Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Cel Damage HD--both of which arrive on the PlayStation Store tomorrow.

The full list of deals follows below:

All of these deals will be available for one week; along with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, which is currently free for Plus members to download on Vita, the sale prices will be going away on April 29.

"Free" LOL that four letter word needs to be added to the others and replaced with "bitch" cause that is what they make you (all free ads). PS took a note from Rent a Center, for a low low price of $25 a month (for 80 months) this $210 dryer can be all yours.

Gabe's laughing quietly to himself, as he reads this from the local Five Guys.

Amazing sale offers :)  25.19 down from 27.99. How could any competitor compete with this?

I like FREE. I just downloaded $15 worth of $1 PS2 & PS1 games. The Weekend FLASH Sale was nice. Thanks Sony.

Is Octodad any good? It looked like an interesting concept but I've not heard anything about it since it came onto Steam.

@terrariafan247  It's fun. I got to play the demo level at an EB Games. Though I would agree with the Gamespot review for it. It's not a genre defining masterpiece, but it's a lot of fun. If you can get it on sale or maybe free through PS Plus, I'd say give it a try.

@terrariafan247  it's fun at first but then frustrating only in the way that on purpose difficult controls can make it.
