PlayStation platforms gets critically acclaimed cloning puzzle game The Swapper in May

Clone yourself to solve puzzles on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

by

Facepalm Games’ The Swapper, a puzzle-platformer previously available only on the PC, is coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita as a Cross Buy title this year, Sony has announced on the PlayStation Blog.

Curve Studios, which previously created ports for Thomas Was Alone and Proteus (as well as its own Stealth Bastard) will port The Swapper to PlayStation platforms. Sony has yet to announce what The Swapper will cost when it’s released.

The Swapper is set on a damaged space station and research facility, which was in part created with clay models, giving the game a dark, creepy look. You’re able to create up to four clones of yourself, switch between them, and control them simultaneously in order to solve a variety of devious puzzles.

Our review of the PC version found that The Swapper was a smart, good-looking game with engaging puzzle mechanics and great atmosphere, if a little short.

I bought this game last year on Steam and have yet to ever play it. At this rate,  you may as well just let PS4 kids log on to my Steam because you'll find all the same games there. I'll charge you 5 bucks a month instead and then someone can actually play my games for me. No cost to you otherwise, all the games you could ever want to play. I get the achievements and see the gameplay.

Win win.

That's nice, I got it the other day for a dollar.

You can currently buy this game on PC for a penny with the humble bundle (I will pay $5).

Sony will offer this on PS+ and Sony fanboys will be on here bragging about how much of an awesome deal PS+ is.  Hurray for internet pay walls.  Thank you sir may I have another.

Oh and I forgot to mention.  For a penny you get 4 indie games.  For $5 you get 9 games plus all of the music.  The money goes to charity.

Sony fanboys, that is what a good deal looks like.

A game like Blackhawk or Flashback in that setting (space station...i love sci-fi and aliens)  would be sweet :)

And the PS4 continues its competition with the Ouya.  Ports of old games do not impress.  Give me real games, Sony.  Please.  (And you know where you can stick Dead Nation: Because The Fanboys Will Call ANYTHING A Value If It Is Free Edition.)

It's weird but most of the PS4's critically acclaimed games are 3hr indie games like Flower and this but not AAA games? Hopefully this will change in Infamous Second Son releases

@wexorian  The Swapper is a masterpiece on any platform. But guess what, it's not on Xbox one.

@lonesamurai1  You need to stop bothering yourself with the 30-60fps or you'll never enjoy playing games at all.

Sure it'll look nice with 60fps but the fact is not everybody wants it like that.

Besides its an indie game so you can't expect it to run 60fps.

@deathstream  lol, another dudebro casual. This happens to be the best indie game of 2013, among the best overall top 10 games of 2013 and therefore better than a bunch of "AAA games" including Bioshock Infinite, and others.

@deathstream  Are you daft? It's not free. It's provided as part of the service called PS+. Games are coming to the console at a steady pace. Just because you aren't impressed by them doesn't mean others aren't enjoying them. While you're bitching on here about the Ps4 and the games being provided, WHAT exactly is Xbox One getting as part of Gold? Nothing, yes? So please, think before you type.

@gottago42  Second Son is only one game, so most will still be ports of old games.  Long term you know Sony will have games, but MS is crushing them in this launch window.

@RicanV @Mr_Ditters

Just a prediction.

The trend as of late is for Sony to get a port of an indie game that has been on PC for months then have it as the monthly PS+ game because there aren't any other games to offer (e.g. Don't Starve, Outlast, Contrast).  Then the Sony fans come here on GS and fawn about how awesome PS+ is because they are getting "free" games while being force to pay for online MP.

As you can tell, I'm bitter about Sony's pay wall.  Ebay is calling my PS4.

@RicanV @Mr_Ditters  It's just an inference that's likely gonna happen. Often if a game appears in a Humble bundle it appears on PS+.
The reason for this seems obvious; you can infer that the dev supports the idea of lowering the cost to get the game in exchange for getting the game in as many hands as possible. Selling the rights to put the game on PS+ is just another form of doing that once you've put it up in a Humble Bundle.

@Artwark Hey I was just joking, we both know it will be better than that.... I think

Deathstream, crushing? Not one of Xbox One's launch games appeals to me. But that's my opinion, Much like your opinion, but you seem to think you speak fact.
