PlayStation Owners Get Alert

Westwood Studios has finally officially announced the enhancements to the PlayStation version of Red Alert.

Thursday, Westwood Studios announced what enhanced features will be included in the company's PlayStation version of Command & Conquer Red Alert. In addition to the 28 Allied and Soviet missions with over 20 units and structures to choose from, the PlayStation version contains a new interface, enhanced graphics and effects, smooth scrolling, larger maps, PlayStation mouse and link cable support, and a skirmish mode, allowing players to play against up to three computer opponents.

The game comes out in early November at retail outlets nationwide or can be ordered directly through Virgin Interactive Entertainment through the Westwood web site.

"Westwood Studios has gone to great lengths to ensure that Red Alert for PlayStation provides the intense multiplay action, addictive gameplay, and stunning graphics that our fans expect," Steve Wetherill, vice president of development at Westwood Studios, said in a statement. "Red Alert for PSX optimizes the technology available on the system to provide the ultimate real-time strategy game."
