According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, PlayStation 4 preorders may be ahead of Xbox One. Asked during an earnings call today if Ubisoft had concerns about demand for the Xbox One being light at launch, Guillemot said the Xbox One will be a hit this holiday, even if preorder figures don't match the PS4.
"What we see is that there is a good preorder list on that machine. Even if the PS4 is in front in terms of preorders, we see lots of improvement in the preorders that are coming on [Xbox One]," Guillemot said. "So no, we are not worried at all. We think it will be a big seller as well."
In August, Sony officially disclosed 1 million preorders for the PS4. A company executive later described reservation totals as "breathtaking highly."
Meanwhile, Microsoft has not announced preorder numbers for the Xbox One, but did say in September that demand for the system has been "overwhelming," with preorders pacing ahead of the Xbox 360 over the same time period.
The PS4 launches on Friday, November 15, while the Xbox One will be released a week later on November 22.
