PlayStation 4 launching in Australia on November 29

Next-gen Sony console releasing in Australia from November 29; PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 12GB model to receive price cut.

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced the release date for its upcoming next-gen console, the PlayStation 4.

The console will release in Australia and New Zealand on November 29 this year. The announcement was made during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

In addition to the release date, Sony also revealed a list of launch window games that will be available by the end of the year. Games listed include Killzone: Shadow Fall, Driveclub, and Knack.

Sony also revealed the integration of streaming service Twitch.tv with the PS4, allowing gamers to live stream gameplay and spectate other streams on the service. Users can press the DualShock 4's "Share" button to broadcast their gameplay directly through their Twitch.tv channels.

Australians can also expect a price cut on the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Vita memory card, and PlayStation 3 12GB model. From September 2, the PS Vita Wi-Fi and 3G models will carry a recommended retail price of $269.95. The PS3 12GB model will carry a new recommended retail price of $269.95.

The PlayStation 4 will be launched in North America on November 15, and will be available in 32 countries by the end of the year.

@WarHead2011 Gosh, thanks I had totally skimmed over the North America release date.  I was like "who cares about New Zealand".... They really could have put that at the top of the article.  I wonder if Nov 15th is a solid date now....

@jawslover @robbiejones @gosushi @Nintendo_Man  hmm im not a big fan of infamous but second son looks fantastic.. but a lot of sony exclusives don't have QTE, ok I was a dik ill admit saying that "sony is the better choice" but as exclusives go if you want me to name some that DON'T have qte than they are as follows...Jak and daxter, the getaway (ps2), killzone, lil big planet, Ni no kuni, shadow of colossus. Now those games KILLL any xbox game...IMO anyways

If you're a hardcore gamer, it's entirely your right to choose whichever console you prefer. I'm still undecided, I was leaning towards PS4,but now I'm not so sure. I'll decide a couple months after they're released.

To you it's a no brainer, but everyone's different.

@robbiejones @gosushi @Nintendo_Man

"Heaps more gameplay variation" You mean cinematic QTE fests with some gameplay thrown on the side? I'll give you Infamous though, great game. At least Microsoft has been innovating the past couple of gens, Sony just sat on their ass and watched what their competitors were doing (with the exemption of DRM, which I give them credit for, but still they didn't really do anything in the first place)

:D I don't HATE the Sony, I'm sure it's a fine console, but I don't understand when somebody tells me to buy a PS because it's better than the Xbox. Do I have no say in what I prefer to spend my money on? :D

@robbiejones @gosushi @Nintendo_Man The X1 easily has the best launch titles so I will keep my pre order for that and sell the ps4.  I will buy a ps4 later when it actually gets some games.

lol.....but you can't speak on behalf of everyone. I don't like any PS games, so why would I buy a PS4? :D
