Monster Hunter Portable 3 for the PSP has been selling well in Japan, and that success has rubbed off onto one of Sony's free apps on the PlayStation 3. According to a recent Sony announcement, the free-to-download app Adhoc Party has been downloaded 1 million times in Japan.

The app lets PSP users connect online with other PSP users through the PS3. This lets gamers play certain ad hoc PSP games with other people over great distances within the same region. Ever since Monster Hunter Portable 3's release in December 1, 2010, to December 31, the app was downloaded more than 200,000 times.
