DICE's Star Wars Battlefront now has a free trial for PC on Origin, allowing you to play the game for four hours before being asked to buy it. This isn't the first time EA has offered a four-hour free trial, as it did so on Star Wars Day, too. Head to Origin here to download Battlefront and get started.

Battlefront is just one of many games with free trials available on Origin. Others include Unravel (10 hours; first level only), The Sims 4 (2 days), Battlefield 4 (7 days), and Titanfall (2 days).

In other news about Battlefront, EA boss Patrick Soderlund explained earlier this week that one of the reasons why the game didn't have a single-player mode was so DICE could launch the game in time for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He also teased that Battlefront 2 may have a traditional campaign.

In order for a shooter game to "truly break out and become really large," it's best to offer both a single-player campaign and a multiplayer component, he said. This is because a campaign can help players familiarize themselves with controls before jumping into online multiplayer, Soderlund mentioned.

"The depth and breadth is something that's proving to be more and more important," he said. "In a world where we want $60 up front and we expect people to stay with us over the course of a long time, the depth of what we offer is important."
