Rise of the Tomb Raider releases on PS4 next week, and if you happen to play it on any platform within a week of that launch, you'll get 100,000 free in-game credits, developer Crystal Dynamics announced on its blog. This works on any platform the game is available on, including Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

From October 11 to October 18 at 11:59 PM PT, players can jump into Rise of the Tomb Raider and claim the free credits. They can then use the credits to purchase Expedition Card Packs, which contain modifiers for the game's Score Attack and Remnant Resistance modes. The modifiers can produce visual differences, such as giving Lara Croft a new costume or big head, or gameplay alterations, like making Lara more resistant to certain types of damage.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20th Anniversary Celebration releases for PS4 on October 11. It features support for PlayStation VR, where players will "unlock the mysteries of Croft Manor in first-person." The PS4 version doesn't have a season pass, as all of the DLC content is included. Its target resolution and frame rate is the same that the Xbox One version ran at.

Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One and PC received a score of 9/10 in GameSpot's review. Critic Mike Mahardy said, "Rise of the Tomb Raider's first shot pans over the vast, foreboding landscape we'll soon come to know. In many ways, it functions as a promise on the part of Crystal Dynamics: there are big things ahead of us. And at the end of Lara's journey, after we've seen her through this adventure, and experienced everything the world has to offer, it's clear that promise was kept."
