Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Adds New Challenges, Races, and Rewards

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 has a bunch of new stuff on the way. The shooter's next update, Trouble in Zombopolis: Part Two, brings Community Challenges, Delivery Challenge time trials, and new rewards, in addition to character balances and improvements.

Community Challenges are in-game objectives that players can complete as they play matches against their foes. Once the goals are reached, players get three chests full of rewards, which can be anything from coins and stickers to exclusive items.

Challenge progress is tracked by the in-game Progress-o-meter, which can be found outside the Town Hall. It lets players see their rewards, collect them, and check out the entire player-base's progress. Additionally, all the statistics can be found on the official website.

The timed Delivery Challenges put players into platforming races. Players control a Rocket Chomper or Delivery Goat and have to deliver Chomper Pizza and Zomburgers to customers. They have to finish deliveries before the clock runs out and can earn medals if they beat the best times.

On top of the new content, the update also makes some balance changes and fixes. Characters receive boosts to their damage output and rate of fire, while maps now have new spawn points and re-positioned turrets. You can see the full list here.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The update goes live today.

Garden Warfare 2 received a score of 7 in GameSpot's review. Critic Scott Butterworth concluded, "With more generous pacing and worthwhile single-player content, Garden Warfare 2 would have been a truly outstanding game, but even without those things, it's a robust shooter with an astounding level of mechanical diversity that all but guarantees you'll encounter something new every round you play."
