PlanetSide to ship on May 20

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that its massively multiplayer first-person shooter PlanetSide will ship to North American retail stores on May 20. The game carries a suggested retail price of $49.99, which includes a 30-day subscription. Players can purchase additional months of play using a credit card, or they can purchase 90-day game cards at selected retailers. The pricing structure for additional playtime has not yet been announced.

PlanetSide is a massively multiplayer shooter set in a sci-fi universe where three different factions are at war with one another. Players select which faction they wish to fight for and then participate in the conflict, which is spread across sprawling continents with dozens of base clusters to capture and control. Experience points earned in the game are used to unlock new weapons and vehicles for the player to use.
