President of Q Games Dylan Cuthbert announced that the follow-up title to last year's PixelJunk Shooter is currently in production. In a post made on the US PlayStation blog, Cuthbert told readers that PixelJunk Shooter 2 will not only be bigger than its predecessor, but will also introduce entirely new features to the PixelJunk series.

"We're busy implementing all the ideas that were left on the drawing board for the first game to make [PixelJunk] Shooter 2 as jam-packed full of crazy fun as possible," Cuthbert said in the post. "I'm pretty sure we won't make a [PixelJunk] Shooter 3 because everything and the kitchen sink (probably quite literally) is going into this game."

To get gamers ready for the sequel, Cuthbert also announced that Sony will be releasing a free demo of Cuthbert's favourite PixelJunk Shooter level on May 25--fans of the series will be pleased to know the level includes "explosive gas, magma, water, tons of cool enemies and volcanic eruptions."
