Phantasy Star Online 2 blasts off in Southeast Asia early 2014

Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines will be receiving English-localized PC version of the game; closed and open beta dates unconfirmed.

While North America and Europe are still waiting for release date news regarding Phantasy Star Online 2, Asia will be getting the PC version in early 2014.

Southeast Asia will get their MAGs on in English early next year.

Publisher Asiasoft will release an English version of the free-to-play MMO from Sega in six Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This version of the game will come with localized environmental art and costumes; specifics on this have yet to be detailed.

The closed and open beta schedules for this English version have yet to be disclosed. Sega announced that PSO2's online service in Japan has reached more than 2.5 million registered IDs and 107,000 concurrent users as of August this year.

Sega pushed back the North American version of PSO2 from early 2013 to an unconfirmed period.

That trailer was abysmal. They mutated the stunningly beautiful PSO theme into some sick JPop track. Sega doesn't give a damn about anyone outside of Japan. I think it's heavily controlled by very old, conservative, up-tight Japanese men. Screw you Sega, you've done nothing but disappoint gamers for years, and waste some of the most creative, innovative talent in the industry.

I'd like this and a port of the Dreamcast original on all major platforms. It would be so sweet to revisit PSO on 3DS, PS Vita, PS3 and PC in full HD 1080p. Sega Please! :D

Dam Sega why you hate us? There's a LOT of people in the U.S who would love this game, but lately Sega has given us false promises and games that have no effort in them. Sega, people been buying your games for years, now you want to stab the fans and the people who supported you in the back?  "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you."

I guess that since the English version is done, the western release shouldn't take too long. But then again, it's Sega we're talking about, it can also mean the West gets this game in a decade or two.

@Zepheral  Not just the US. PAL region as well, IE Europe and Australia.
Me being in Australia, I would be heartbroken if they didn't release it generally westward.
I have a feeling they'll release it when its close to the ending days of the online service... ;_;
