Persona 5 will launch in North America sometime in 2015 for the PlayStation 3, Atlus announced today. The game was originally announced in November for a Japanese release. Persona 5 is the first entry in the main role-playing series developed for the PS3.
Unfortunately, that's all Atlus was willing to share about Persona 5. The game's plot, characters, and everything else are staying under wraps for the time being. Atlus' John Hardin teased on the PlayStation Blog that series director Katsura Hashino says the game's storyline will involve "throwing off the chains of oppression to find one's truth self," which explains the image above.
That's not all. Atlus also announced today that the sequel to Persona 4 Arena--called Persona 4 Arena Ultimax--will launch for the PS3 in fall 2014. The game features a new story mode that continues the plot of the original game, adds new fighting modes, and also includes Persona 4 characters like Junpei lori and Yukari Takeba. New to the series is the "mysterious, scarred, red-headed Sho Minazuki," Atlus teased.
On top of that, Atlus confirmed that rhythm action game Persona 4: Dancing All Night will launch in North America for the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2015. The game features 30 tracks/remixes and has been developed in collaboration with Dingo, the team behind Hatsune Miku: Project Diva.
Finally, Atlus announced today that 3DS game Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is coming to North America and will launch this fall. It was previously confirmed for a release in Japan.
