People Are Making Progress With The Secret Demon's Souls Door

Slowly but surely, people are beginning to crack this new secret.

Bluepoint's Demon's Souls remake has been teasing players with a brand new secret just for the PS5 version. Fairly early in the game, a door not included in the original game has made an appearance, and ever since players have been trying to crack its secrets. After so much effort, their hard work is starting to pay off.

Twitter user VaatiVidya sent a tweet on November 18, showcasing new discoveries about the door. The tweet is a "door update" and points out that Bluepoint's Shadow of the Colossus remake also had a secret door that required 79 coins to open. Two different kinds of coin, a rare "Gold Coin" which was added to the Officials as a drop, and the "Ceramic Coin" which seems to only appear in the Fractured world. The tweet also includes a link to this video, which shows the discovery of the Ceramic Coin in the Fractured world.

The Ceramic Coin's item description reads: "A cheap coin of dried clay. Crush to recover a tiny amount of HP. Extremely brittle and fragile, the glimmer has faded much like the value." It looks like these coins are going to have some kind of impact on getting the door open, and some fans in the replies to VaatiVidya are worried the game may ask them to farm 79 coins to get the job done.

Others have been experimenting with what the Ceramic Coin can be used for in-game, including trading it to the series' longstanding corvid companion, Snuggly the Crow. According to user Distortion2 in a comment on their Hidden Door Update #2 video on YouTube, the coin cannot be traded to Snuggly. Though she responds as though it's a tradeable item like any other, the coin is returned back to you unchanged. So that's one bright idea that's been put to bed for now.

If you'd like to get in on trying to figure out this mysterious door, you can find it by progressing through the first Archstone's content. Beware though, as it's recommended that you navigate the Nexus in a circular pattern, completing one area before moving onto the next Archstone. If you finish an entire Archstone's content first, you're probably going to have some fairly nasty fights on your hands. You can get other tips for starting out by checking out our beginner's guide.
