We're revving our engines to prepare for another GameSpot subscriber exclusive competition! In the next week we'll be hosting Pedal to the Metal Challenge, a massive online racing tournament for NASCAR SimRacing.  The tournament will consist of forty players, each who will pre-qualify for the championship by participating in a shoot-out race with 19 of their peers. The featured racetrack is none other than the very-popular Daytona International Speedway.  In Nascar SimRacing, an amazing rush of racing fervor awaits. This will be the place to show off your driving skills against your fellow GameSpot subscribers.

Now's the time to let your friends know about the tournament!  In order to have a successful race and be prepared when registration opens, every hopeful participant should start a plan of approach by confirming their access and ping to the server, and verifying they have the timeslots available in real life for the event dates listed. Once you're sure your connectivity won't be an issue, and your driving skills are up to snuff, you can verify there is a timeslot that works for you during one of the two shoot-out preliminary races. Knowing ahead of time which timeslot you plan to sign up for will save you from last minute changes and potential problems. Also, be sure to ready up your steering wheel, scrape that mud off your pedals, plug them in and get ready to race.

Pick your strategy, practice hard, and remember, as Cole Trickle knows: Rubbing is racing!
