PCs dig up Deluxe Arcade Treasures

Latest collection of Midway's arcade classics now available for PC; $19.99 compilation contains 29 games.

Midway has announced that Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition for the PC is now available. The collection contains 29 old-school arcade classics from the company's Midway Arcade Treasures 2 and Midway Arcade Treasures 3, previously released on consoles. Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition is rated E for Everyone and retails for $19.99.

There's likely to be something for anyone who was a fan of stepping into a video arcade in the decade from the mid-1980s on, with the roster covering fighting, racing, and side-scrolling coin-op classics. Nostalgia hits hard as three Mortal Kombat games make their debut on the PC, and multiplayer action in games such as Xenophobe, Rampage World Tour, and Gauntlet II remind players how awkward it was standing so close to someone else while fiddling with joysticks.

The list of games included is as follows:

APB
Arch Rivals
Badlands
Championship Sprint
Cyberball 2072
Gauntlet II
Hard Drivin'
Hydro Thunder
Kozmik Krooz'r
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat II
NARC
Off Road Thunder
Pit Fighter
Primal Rage
Race Drivin'
Rampage World Tour
S.T.U.N. Runner
San Francisco Rush 2049
San Francisco Rush the Rock: Alcatraz Edition
Spy Hunter II
Super Off Road with bonus Track-Pak!

I'm still trying to decide which platform to get this for, because they have different titles in the lineups. . .sometimes. Perhaps I will just wait for the Revolution and get them all then.

Put $40 bucks aside and equip your PC with a half decent set of controller adapters for your old gear. Make sure the adaptors can handle 2 or 3 pads plugged in so you can play w/ friends. I can play PC games with: dual shock, sega saturn, sega genesis and Xbox 360 controllers. If the config doesn't cooperate, I have a handy little program called JoyToKey. You can assign any key to a button/direction. Anyway, this Midway compilation is sweet for 20 bones.

This is sweet. I was wicked jealous of my friends console version. Gametap is too expensive for something I wanna play here and there.

Yay. But not good, couse i want this collection for PC. Better handling than a keyboard. Dualshock feels more like sega joystick. Remember the times when we played Mortal Kombat II with the old SEGA Genesis and other.
