If PC gamers felt a slight disturbance in the Force this morning, it was because Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has gone gold. As announced on publisher LucasArts' Web site, the PC version of the popular Xbox game is on track for its scheduled November 18 ship date.

Developed by veteran role-playing studio BioWare, Knights of the Old Republic is set in the Star Wars universe some 4,000 years before the films. In that era, two factions--the Jedi and the Sith--were engaged in a civil war for control of the Galactic Republic. The game won critical praise for its complex plot, which allowed players to choose between the light and dark sides of the Force by performing acts of random kindness (helping a terrified woman to get a bounty off her head) or cruelty (killing her and collecting the bounty yourself). The new version of the game will feature some new story elements and gameplay that's been reworked specifically for the PC.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is rated "T" for Teen and will retail for $49.99.
