Pay What You Want for BioShock, XCOM, and Other 2K Games in the Newest Humble Bundle

We'll also be giving away download codes for the entire bundle. You can win them by watching The Lobby.

Humble Bundle, the organization behind pay-what-you-want game collections and the Humble Store, just launched the Humble 2K Bundle today, and it features several critically acclaimed titles such as BioShock and Spec Ops: The Line.

As always with Humble Bundles, you choose what you want to pay for the games.

Any purchase over $1 nets you:

If you spend more than the average purchase price (usually around $5), you'll get

Finally, if you donate $20 or more, you'll be able to add:

All of these games come with Steam keys. The original BioShock will come with a DRM-free version, as well. And as always, the proceeds go to a good cause. You can choose how much of what you donate goes to American Red Cross and Action Against Hunger, 2K, and the Humble organization itself.

The Humble 2K Bundle is live now and runs until July 22 at 11 A.M. PST.

If you want a chance to grab a key for the entire package, tune in to The Lobby (GameSpot's weekly live show) today, July 8, at 2PM PST and follow GameSpot on Twitter to find out how you can win a download code. The codes are available for all countries, except Burma, Myamar, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria.

Personally, I think I'll grab BioShock 2 to check out its excellent Minerva's Den DLC. Which tier will you buy? Are there any games here that you've been waiting to be discounted to buy? Let us know in the comments!

How many items or keys do you get? Can i buy the second tier and give the first one away seperately?

And if i want to give one of the second tier games away do i have to buy them again?

I am interrested to give spec ops the line away but i want to keep Bioshock 2 if possible :-P

Gaming On PC is insanely expensive? this article.

Almost all PS owners should have Infinite, Enemy Unknown and Spec Ops. That being said can you gift away titles on Steam from the humble bundle?

My problem is that I already own and have played every one of these games if not on PC than through PS Plus. I might end up just doing the $5 to support charity and to own all the games even if my PS Plus subscription lapses or PS3 dies.

surely everyone owns Bioshock and Mafia 2 and X-COM by now, surely. I bought those on Steam deal day.

XCOM is a fun game, but you should really get the DLCs for it, too. Alas, XCOM and DLCs were just on sale during Summer Sales for less than $20.

I've been quite curious about "The Bureau" since the beginning. Is it as terrible as some websites claim it to be?

Just bought Bioshock Infinite on steam sales...I would be mad, if the game wasn't so damn good that it was still very much worth the money!

Went for the second tier package.  Never played the first two Bioshocks.  Hope they add something else. ;)

Done and Done. I was looking for a reason to buy Spec ops anyways.

Not sure if Myamar is a country but I do believe Myanmar is Burma :)

Of course they would do this right after I just bought the Bioshock trilogy during the Steam Summer Sale.  Of course.

i would wait towards the end of the promotion to see what games they added

2K Thank You for listening to the gamers. Even if someone owns all of these titles, it just shows you're a real gamer. I wish most publishers would do this with their catalog. This is truly giving back. 2K all I need from you now is to make another football game so you can annihilate EA. You already stole basketball away from them when NBA LIVE ruled and now it's time to stomp on them by destroying their Madden like you did in 2005.

Too bad I am completely and utterly broke, I would get it for Spec Ops, Darkness 2 and XCOM.

Everyone one of these games are far beyond their competition when they came out, and still stand head and shoulders above most games out now. This is an incredible deal and or gift, while I have all of these games i plan to buy them for my nephews.

Great deal and great games.

Another reason why STEAM is the sh*t. There has to be a model like this for consoles. Looks like 2K is on board with Steam support. They are making money on games that have already run it's course and it's brilliant. The more you pay the more choices you have. GREAT

vegard1985

Yeah, had most of these but paid 7 bucks for Bioshock 2, which I also have (collector's edition even), but not on Steam. Also Darkness and Bureau, but no idea if they're any good.

The only thing that sucks is these are pretty popular titles and most people already have them. still really cool though.

@chadpack2010 I've added you. I know this article is old, but do you still have the Bioshock 1 and 2 codes?

Daian

@RicanV yes, you can even gift entire bundles. Feeling generous? Because I'd really like XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Spec Ops and Darkness 2 :) (I lack the means of getting it myself, it's complicated).

Born_Lucky
Born_Lucky

@nyran125tk Actually, MOST people don't own those games, and I don't want any of them. Why would I pay for a game that should have been named "White people are evil, and everyone else is good". (B I )

I want a game  . . . not white hating propaganda.

nyran125tk
nyran125tk

@WereCatf for sure, you really need X-COM enemy Within, it adds a bit to the base game. I tried xenonauts, as much as its more like the original, but man, its almost like going backwards. I kind of wish all the stuff thats in Xenonauts was in X-COM enemy within.

Caldrin

@Warlord_Irochi yeah its nto that bad.. gets a bit repetative and not as good as it could have been but well worth a few $

Setho10
Setho10

@Warlord_Irochi It's pretty awful. The actual missions aren't horrible. Just mediocre. The problem is going back to base between missions. You end up walking around this massive base just to talk to different people. I guess it is more immersive or whatever, but if they just used a menu you could have done what ends up taking up to half an hour between missions in less than 5. It's an almost identical problem to Lost Planet 3. Both games try to make themselves feel bigger and more open than they are, and all they end up doing is forcing you to spend as much time walking to a mission as you do playing the mission itself.

santinegrete

@Simulator_Shock It's outstanding if you ask me.You're the terror in that game, but also human. And the characters are well portrayed too. It's a great little experience: there's no way you'll take more than 6 hours to play, so it also takes little time of you, but shows a lot.

4kgamer_lmxxx
4kgamer_lmxxx

@Simulator_Shock I played it last year and yeah, it's pretty good. The gameplay is not that exiting, but the story and characters are pretty nice. There's some nice emotional stuff in-between.

@fredwv 2cnd Bioshock kinda sucks TBH, first one is definitely a must play though.

You get those games as well as long as the fall under the price point you unlocked.

@bearfan15 I am missing a bunch of them, so far only played the Bioshock games and Mafia 2.

santinegrete
santinegrete

@bearfan15 yup, pretty much my situation. The only game I don't own here is Xcom decclasified. I even have mafia 2, and I hate GTA, I purchased it on a whim.

Warlord_Irochi
Warlord_Irochi

@fredwv @Simulator_Shock It's not the ultimate wonder of gaming. But if you want for a entertaining shooter with tons of gore. Then go for it. Quite loyal to the comic books too.

unfreak-believ
unfreak-believ

@santinegrete @bearfan15 In case you haven't played it (I own many games I have yet to play):

Mafia 2's similarities to GTA don't actually run very deep. Whereas GTA is a sandbox for mayhem, Mafia 2 is a linear game told in an open world. There wasn't any chance to mess around between missions, as there was no "in between missions" - there weren't main missions and side missions like open world games have, these missions are more akin to checkpoints. It has a story to tell, and doesn't distract itself with any excess. The combat's serviceable enough, so if you like a good story I'd recommend giving it your time.

Kevy1252
Kevy1252

@santinegrete @bearfan15 No offence but you're not normal. GTA is the sh*t, but you're entitled to your opinion

santinegrete
santinegrete

@Kevy1252 thanks for that. No, really, I'm atypical: I'm the kind of gamer that kept Dead to rights, Resistance and Gears over all Uncharted saga for the simple fact that I find gunplay very lackuster in comparison. It also happens to me in all GTA when I taste the combat mechanics there.

What I can say, it's hard to meet the gunplay standars I have thanks to Killing Floor (a really average game with a lot of that heart in that)
