Papo & Yo developer Minority Media Inc has unveiled the project that it is currently working on. Called Silent Enemy, the game will explore the topic of bullying.

Silent Enemy will explore the topic of bullying.

The game will feature an Aboriginal character who embarks on a quest to find springtime. Set in Northern Quebec, the protagonist will find himself bullied by crow-like creatures that hinder his quest.

According to the teaser, the development team has drawn upon its own experiences as victims of bullying in the creation of the game.

It is currently unknown which platforms Silent Enemy will be released on. Papo & Yo was released for the PlayStation 3 in August last year, and has since made its way on to Steam last month. The game was positively received in GameSpot’s review, praised for the handling of its serious subject matter and empowering moments.

If that picture is descriptive of "their bullying experiences", than I think we ought to find that hawk man and kill him before he bullies anymore.

I wish they just announced a new game, being told the message before hand kinda lessens the impact.

Great. That's what I want. A game from people who were victims of bullying. Should be fun. Let's run through the lilies and all sing Kumbaya.

I hope they make sure the game is fun, unlike their last game.

Games should be about fun and compelling gameplay first.  Shoehorn in your message later.

I enjoyed Papo & Yo.  And like Papo & Yo, I'll have to experience Silent Enemy objectively.  It won't be as powerful of an experience, I'm sure, but an experience worth having nonetheless.

With their eyes wide shut, this will be at least a 7.0 on GS automatically given the subject matter.

"We are all minority"...yet I see not one black person that worked on this game.

I want to see how it turns out. Could be really good and moving. Fingers crossed.

The character shown in the picture in this article looks like a complete rip-off of the Winslow/Phantom character from Phantom of the Paradise (Google Image the terms "winslow phantom of the paradise").

@Cowboy-Bebop Many people from famous metal bands experienced bullying. Bully victims want to smash the heads in of the people who bully them, not run through the grass singing songs with them.

@Double_Wide Random person does not understand the context of the word minority in that sentence, proceeds to make ignorant post anyway. Yep, sounds about right.

Haha crows even, would of been better if it was cows.

@Maxx_the_Slash And as is typical with most people claiming "this is a ripoff of this". It looks and feels nothing like it. It is more like a Karasu Tengu, crow man with a mask.

@Maxx_the_Slash I always wanted to know what the heck that movie was.  I've never heard of or seen this movie until I saw "Terror in the Aisles".   Which I just recently watched (again) about 4 or 5 years ago.

@Pulfasonic@Cowboy-BebopAnd if we were to play a game about violent revenge fantasies (wait. that's every game ever.) that would be GREAT.

Personally, as someone who experienced bullying to a spectacular degree in public schools, I have this to say: We don't need to be cured of pain. Pain makes us strong.

"You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're things we carry with us - the things that make us who we are. If we lost them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away. I need my pain."

Pain is just another adversity, and we shouldn't seek it out just so we can overcome it, but we do not know ourselves until we have been tested by adversity. It reveals deeper truths about us. I know few people like pain, and I know that everyone looks better as their fair-weather self, but dealing with conflict and adversity is a part of life. It's not only about self discovery, but also about growth, and learning how to deal with those who would force their will upon us.

@Bellum_Sacrum @Maxx_the_Slash Let's see:  All black costume with a metal bird mask (the only difference being the type of bird represented, the character in this game wearing a crow mask and the Phantom in Phantom of the Paradise wearing an owl mask), and what little skin is showing on the lower face is sickly pale.

I declare shenanigans.
