Pandemic confirms Mercenaries

Josh Resnick, founder and president of Pandemic Studios, confirmed that his studio is hard at work on a new Xbox title to be published by LucasArts.

Titled Mercenaries, the third-person shooter is due this fall. In development at the studio best known for its military trainer/squad-based shooter Full Spectrum Warrior, the new project has been known to this day only as "Project Y."

Resnick today told GameSpot that the code thus far "looks stunning." However, LucasArts and Pandemic are releasing little more in the way of substantive information about the title other than that it has an anarchic but military storyline involving a civil war in Asia. GameSpot will update the story as new details become available.
