Pacific Storm seeks beta testers

Bug squashers and problem solvers needed for closed beta testing of Lesta Studio's ambitious PC game.

Russian developer Lesta Studio is looking for a few good testers for its simulation-real-time-strategy hybrid Pacific Storm. According to the announcement on the game's official forums, the closed beta will be no free ride. Applicants must submit a resume and, if selected, will be expected to run tests suites and cases and then report the results in written form. Applications are due August 21.

Though it's based on the Pacific theater of World War II, Pacific Storm departs from history to let players create their own endings long after the war actually finished. The game will combine tactical wargaming, real-time strategy, and simulation gameplay, as players can jump into any vehicle during the game to lay down flak or to drop torpedoes by hand.

Pacific Storm is planned for release at the end of the year. For more, see the game's official Web site.
