Pac-Man CE chomping on PSP minis

Namco Bandai's retooled pellet-muncher heads to PSP's online store tomorrow for $5.

In November, Namco Bandai released a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sequel to Pac-Man Championship Edition, the much-acclaimed reboot of the classic pellet-chomping title from 2007. Now, gamers will be able to check out the retooled Pac-Man formula on their PSPs as well, as Namco Bandai today confirmed that Pac-Man Championship Edition will arrive as a PSP mini through the PlayStation Store tomorrow, priced at $4.99.

Pac-Man Championship Edition largely maintains the traditional Pac-Man gameplay, which sees the iconic jaundiced glutton chomping Pac-Dots and Power Pellets while evading four ghosts through mazes. However, Championship Edition also saw the introduction of time limits, Pac-Dot multipliers, and dynamically shifting mazes.

Pac-Man is chomping at the PSP mini bit.

Notably, the PSP mini version of the game differs from the just-released DX edition, in that it does not include ghost trains, bombs, or slowdown effects.

@KBFloYd Wow. Comparing the XBox version to the PSP, and you came up with that conclusion all by yourself? You sir, are a genius. In all seriousness, though, Pac-Man is Pac-Man no matter what the version. While I would have loved to see DX on the PSP, I guess we'll have to wait until the NGP. (If ever...)

It's all well and good for PSP users, but if your buying it on PS3 get the DX version. imo it's better value.

it's a shame the DX version isn't available on more platforms like the PC, DS and ipod touch/iphone Echoing others thoughts here, it's not like those platforms couldn't handle this game

@InflictedOwned I'm giving my gf my PSP, so I'm sorta obligated to get her games for it.

Might be worth it, but I wish it could've been the full experience of the DX version. Disappointed. It's not like the PSP couldn't handle it.
