Overwatch Sword Forged in Real Life

These are no simple look-alike props. The master craftspeople at Man At Arms: Reforged make replicas of weapons found in popular media using real-world techniques. Obviously, the weapons they make are based in fiction, but they do their best to make replicas that should work effectively as actual weapons once they have them in hand.

Given that cyborg-appropriate blades aren’t a thing (yet?), the cutting edge and core of Genji’s Dragonblade from Overwatch are forged using traditional methods, while the glowing cyber-ninja parts are cosmetic, using a combination of green LEDs, and a sheet of Lexan polycarbonate.

As the video closes out, look forward to seeing someone in Genji cosplay going to town on some apparently evil groceries.

For more Man at Arms: Reforged, check out their builds of Link’s Hylian shield from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Saw Cleaver from Bloodborne, and Geralt’s swords from The Witcher 3.
