Out of Its Element

Hudson had the PlayStation version of The Fifth Element at its booth, and we were there to get the details.

One of the titles that surprised us was Hudson's The Fifth Element based on the film directed by Luc Besson, starring Bruce Willis and Millaa Jovovich. In the game, you play as either Bruce or Milla (it depends on the level of your choice) exploring levels, solving puzzles and collecting elements to save the world from impending doom.

The perspective is much like that of Tomb Raider, or even closer, that of Nightmare Creatures, set from behind the character. While Bruce uses guns, Milla uses physical attacks with quick moves.

Also, the game contains side stories that didn't appear in the film. So you can enjoy the game if you really got into the movie and were thirsty for more.

The Fifth Element is slated for this summer in Japan and judging from the footnote in the TGS guidebook, it appears that Kalisto, makers of Nightmare Creatures, is developing the game.
