Otakon clock to come with select MGS titles

Kojima Productions offers PC desktop accessory to Japanese purchasers of Metal Gear Acid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

by

Kojima Productions is offering a free bonus to purchasers of Metal Gear Acid 2 or Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in the form of an appropriately themed PC desktop accessory. The accessory is called "OtaClock," and as the name suggests, it's a clock that features series character Otakon. The clock was originally developed for use by Kojima's development team, but it's now being released to the public as well. Keen Metal Gear Solid fans might recognize the OtaClock from its brief appearance in the last few seconds of Metal Gear Solid 4's trailer. To download the OtaClock, gamers will need to visit a special Web site address that can be found in Japanese copies of Metal Gear Acid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

Hey! What are those funny little numbers in the bottom right of my desktop? Well, by golly, it's a clock!! I'll use that one instead of downloading game propaganda and likely spyware.

Actually it should be Otakon in English, given that the character was named after the convention. Unfortunately Konami's translators didn't know that when they originally translated the character name

I got it too, didn't take me long to figure out how to use it. Even with the japanese menu.

It's a nice clock. I got it. MetalGearSolid.org has a translation of the menu, you'll probably want to go there.

It's a K in Japanese because they don't have C's. It's Otakon, and in the US it's Otacon.

I downloaded the clock. Its a nice clock though I can't understand its settings (japanese). They have two versions, a regular one and a lite one. I haven't tried the lite version.

. . .maybe they will release it here too. I suppose someone could let the url loose to the Internet community. . .then consumers all over the world could keep time with the lover of "Japanese animes."

WHY!? They release all the awsome packages and extra bonuses in Japan, but leave everybody else out! Maybe I want an Otacon clock...

I'll just search for the site and get the clock. Not like I don't own everything Metal Gear that has come out in the U.S., so I won't feel bad for getting the clock without buying one of the games in Japan.
