Okamoto: New 360 game on the way

Yoshiki Okamoto, CEO of Game Republic, has let the cat out of the bag: his studio is currently working on an unannounced Xbox 360 game.

Okamoto dropped the news today on his blog, where the former Capcom managing director said "The Xbox 360 project that we're working on now hasn't been announced yet, but I think it's safe to say that this game is well worth looking forward to."

This would mark a second Xbox 360 title for Game Republic. The developer shipped Every Party for the 360 last December in Japan.

Okamoto is one of Japan's most highly tracked developers--before starting his own company in 2003, he was at Capcom for 20 years, and his track record includes work on franchises such as Resident Evil and Street Fighter.

In the same entry, Okamoto also blogged about a visit to Game Republic by the new head of Xbox Japan, Takashi Sensui. Describing previous Game Republic projects as "disappointing," Okamoto says that the company is now moving in a new direction, and he wanted Sensui to visit so as to share those changes.

The blog post wasn't clear about the new title receiving any promotion at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo. GameSpot will keep an eye on Okamoto's blog for additional information.
