Official Skyrim Monopoly Set Coming in 2017

An officially licensed Monopoly set themed around The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is on the way, video game merchandise company Merchoid announced today.

Due out in March 2017 for $48, the game uses characters, locations, and lore from the video game for its gameboard, tokens, cards, buildings, and dice. Merchoid did not provide specifics, and the product page doesn't share more details, but the game's box features a shouting Dragonborn on the cover.

Skyrim is not the first video game franchise that Merchoid has made a Monopoly board for, as others include Fallout (another Bethesda property), Street Fighter, and Assassin's Creed.

"Whether your plans are to set up villages in Riverwood, build up towns Winterhold, or construct huge castles in Windhelm, get ready to unleash your inner entrepreneurial spirit as you lay claim to some of the most valuable plots in Tamriel," Merchoid community manager Jessica Adams said in a statement. "You'll soon be shouting 'Fus Ro Deal!' as you bargain your way to success."

In other news about Skyrim, a remastered version of the game, called the Special Edition, launches on October 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Additionally, Skyrim was shown in the Nintendo Switch announcement video, but Bethesda has not yet committed to launching the game on the system.
