Now there’s an Assassin’s Creed Mega Bloks set

Ubisoft and Mega Bloks will release Assassin's Creed Mega Bloks sets in fall 2014.

Mega Brands and Ubisoft today announced a partnership to create a new line of Assassin’s Creed construction sets for fall 2014.

Mega Bloks, a toy very similar to Lego, already offers construction sets based on other games like Halo, World of Warcraft, Skylanders, and Call of Duty.

"Working with a partner like Mega Brands allows us to bring new experiences to loyal fans of Assassin's Creed and introduce it to new audiences," Ubisoft’s SVP of marketing and sales Tony Key said. "This collection captures the spirit of Assassin's Creed bringing to life the characters and rich historical settings in a fun way."

The announcement did not include any images of the sets or specify which characters and particular Assassin’s Creed games they’ll represent.

Last week, Ubisoft also revealed that it partnered with Cryptozoic Entertainment (makers of Walking Dead and Adventure Time board games and card decks), for Assassin’s Creed: Arena, a 2-4 player tabletop game.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which launched last fall, is the most recent entry in the core series and has shipped 10 million copies to date. A new installment in the main franchise has been released every year since 2009, but Ubisoft has yet to announce 2014's game.

Some of the lego only mindset is really getting old. Mega bloks made huge improvements and are so awesome now. Their bricks snap together fine and halo and call of duty sets are true reflection of their in game looks compare to cutesy looks of lego. I highly recommend anyone who has not bought a mega bloks set in 2013 take a look at their latest call of duty sets and halo sets; ex: upcoming mega bloks odin space station, it's so EPIC.

Anybody playing with megabloks is not old enough to play AC.

mega bloks are for babies and that sums up the game nicely.

I've been a big fan of ASSASSIN'S CREED since AC2...  and in fact loved BLACK FLAG...  but I'm beyond sick of the over-exposure.  Not sure I can stomach another AC game...  no matter how much fun I had with AC IV.

As much as I'm annoyed by Ubisoft's milking of what started out as one of the best franchises of modern times (and this is no exception) these might be cool little desk-figures, especially posed running across rooftops/monitors.

I want to know the details of the next game in the series. At least, the name of the location.

I don't feel there should be children's toys based on Mature rated games.

This is getting out of hand. Next thing you know there's going to be Assassin's Creed plates and bowls.

I wonder who wants that, the world of Assassin's Creed is so boring.

Too bad Mega Blocks suck :/ The bricks cant even stay attached to one another. Ubisoft was too cheap to try and get Legos and went with Mega Blocks.

Aren't CoD and AC "M" rated games or at least teen? Yet mega blocks is making this into toys for kids...

The main focus of Assassin's Creed for the player is the character you play as -- how he moves, how he fights, climbs, swings, balances, dives as well as his awesome clothes and weapons.

All of this reduced to a blocky character.

The Halo Mega Bloks made sense. You have awesome vehicles to display, alien worlds, etc. It doesn't matter if Master Chief is a little blocky. The world he's in is cool, like Star Wars, Batman, LotR Lego sets.

The AC set won't have the same thing going for it. The environment could be any "period piece", really. A pirate set. A medieval set. A revolutionary war set.

What I'm saying, is, this is a stupid idea.

"a toy very similar to Lego". the only difference is the name.

Mega Blocks should bury themselves in shame for so blatantly copying the World's best toy brand.

Yeah.. these "Look at this/now there's this/did you see?" articles… can you not?

@Toysoldier34  Just to play devil's advocate though, that would've meant there was never any Aliens or Terminator toys. Yes, you could argue that they were adult collectibles but that didn't stop high-street retailers stocking them in the toy aisles.

@tonytones21 Assassin's Creed home pregnancy test, Assassin's Creed-O's, Assassin's Creed Lunchbox

@csward Ya, sadly it's not exactly a new thing. There were kids toys of Aliens and Predators when AVP came out. God that was an awful movie.

@csward  Yeah... let's turn a game where you stab people in the throat with a hidden blade into toys for kids. Makes sense!

@csward  I was thinking the same thing. Too bad they don't have a legos set...I'd be inclined to purchase it depending on if it looked good.

@spikepigeo  So it's basically take the normal MegaBloks line and add Assassin's Creed characters to it? You're right, it's really not a good fit. Their time could have been better spent on Titanfall or MGS.

@19James89 @Mo60  Thanks for the information i thought the game released early in 2011 in the same year with Assassin's Creed:Revelations, maybe i thought the game released in 2011 because i played Assassin's Creed:Brotherhood in 2011.
Sorry,it's my memory mistake and i apologize to Gamespot Site for my false correction and Gamespot Site is right about the information they said above which is (A new installment in the main franchise has been released every year since 2009) so,i apologize again to Gamespot Site and i hope they accept my apologize about my false information or correction and i will delete my false information and correction anyway.
Thanks @19James89 my friend again for reminding me with the right information about the releasing date of Assassin's Creed:Brotherhood because i really did not know it and i apologize again and again to Gamespot Site for my fault in writing a false correction or information to information written by Gamespot which was right from the beginning in the above topic and i really hope that Gamespot Site accept my apologies because i did not like what i did and also i did not like to write an information or even a correction to an information and show it to the public specially on the internet and the information or the correction i write it wrong from my side in the end,so i repeat my apologies again and again to Gamespot Site.

@PlatinumPaladin @Toysoldier34  I don't feel having toys of an adult themed subject like an R rated movie or mature game is the issue, just having it displayed right for kids. Toys for a movie like Alien would be at least on the shelves with toys for older kids, but the Mega Blocks and Lego are all displayed together for kids young and old.

Many of the kids buying Assassin's Creed toys also generally means that they have played the game which they also shouldn't be doing so young I feel. Though getting back to your original point toys for any mature topic I don't feel should be on the shelves for children.
